Difference in Supply Chain and Logistics. A supply chain is the network between a company and its suppliers and customers that includes all the transactions involved in transforming raw goods into salable products. The basic difference between Logistics and Supply Chain Management is that Logistics management is the process of integration and maintenance (flow and storage) of goods in an organization whereas Supply Chain Management is the coordination and management (movement) of supply chains of an organization. Another way to perceive the difference is that supply chains are responsible for the overall sourcing, processing, and delivery of goods to the end customer, whereas logistics focuses on moving and storing goods between different supply chain organizations.
